Treasures: Rug based on Matisse design is valuable

Dear Helaine and Joe:
In the early 1950s, my father-in-law was an executive for Alexander Smith Carpets, and he acquired this rug during his time there. The rug is 3 by 5 feet and is in perfect condition. What is its value?
Thank you,
J.F., Cincinnati

Treasures: A valuable hall bench made of fine oak

Dear Helaine and Joe:
My parents gave me this piece of furniture and I would like to have it appraised. The only information I have about the piece is that it has been in my father's family for more than 100 years. We are uncertain of its exact origins. My father grew up in New York, but his family was originally from Poland. The bench seat is hinged and opens for storage.

Old teapot has little value

Dear Helaine and Joe:
I am enclosing photos of a teapot. It is in perfect condition. I do not think it was ever used. The bottom is marked "Old Coalport Period 1825" above a mark that has "England" above a crown with the word "Coalport" below and "A.D. 1750." Could you tell me if this piece is worth anything?
Thank you,

Glinda of Oz could be valuable

Dear Helaine and Joe:
Enclosed is a photo of books that I have had for years. All are in the Oz series by L. Frank Baum. The titles are Tik-Tok of Oz (1908), Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz (1914), and Glinda of Oz (1920). This last book has its dust jacket, but it is torn. What are their values?
Thank you,
R. F., North Aurora, Ill.

Dear Helaine and Joe:
This letter, signed by Winston S. Churchill, was given to my husband by the son of the person to whom it was written. Does it have any historical or monetary value?
