Dick and Megan's family room was missing just one thing: the family. Their two young children were taking over this grand space with a mishmash of toys, books and games. This left little room for Dick and Megan and Megan's parents, who live on the third floor of this beautiful old home.

Pamela lives in a beautiful home that recently functioned as a bit of an "empty nester." Two of her three daughters were away at university, but they are returning home soon and the quiet house will once again swirl with girls.

When Debbie and Nicholas purchased their new home, one of the biggest selling features was the large backyard, complete with tennis court and pool. But when it came to the basement, the couple wasn't so crazy about the original 1970s decor.

Wendy's guest bathroom was completely washed out. Located prominently at the top of the stairs, it was definitely a real eyesore. Complete with dim lighting, lack of storage and even a broken toilet, this bathroom was ready for renovation.

Every woman wants -- and deserves -- a room of her own, preferably a quiet, relaxing oasis where she can be quiet with her thoughts and escape the daily stresses of life.

Kelly and Mike live in a magnificent family home with their adorable 1-year-old son, Jacob. Life is chaotic at their place: Mom and Dad are incredibly busy in their medical practices, and their little tyke is equally busy creating clutter and disarray everywhere he goes.

Patty and Allan were fighting clutter for control of their master bedroom, which had become a multipurpose battleground with the television, an office nook, the bed and an exercise bike all competing for floor space.

Bridget and Doug just finished a 12-year sentence in a time warp. Their stark white kitchen, complete with broken cabinets and dated California ceilings, had definitely seen better days.

Many people work part-time from their homes, and many also entertain clients in their homes. This can provide a more personal and comfortable business atmosphere in which to develop a working relationship.
