Swinger is Rams' 48-minute man
After the initial shock of losing Butler, a Duke commit, who was expected to play in all phases of the game, the Rams have confidence in Swinger, a senior and three-year starter who is their most experienced player. Before Butler’s injury, and an injury to junior safety Chazz Martin, Swinger was expected to contribute at receiver, and backup free safety.

Summerville's McKissick to coach second grandson
McKissick, 81, is 556-130-13 at Summerville and has won 10 state championships. Donny McElveen, McKissick’s grandson, transferred from Mount Tabor High in Winston Salem, N.C. McElveen led Mount Tabor to the state title game last season, and threw for 1,900 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Westside's Luckadoo to lead Sandlappers in Shrine Bowl
It’ll be the fourth time Luckadoo has coached in one of the state’s two all-star games. Luckadoo, who has coached the Rams for 24 seasons, was a North-South assistant in 1992, and a Shrine Bowl assistant in ’97. He was the head coach for the North team’s victory in 2005.
