Schultz drops suit against Oklahoma City team's ownership
The last legal loose end over the NBA franchise's relocation to Oklahoma City as former Sonics chairman Howard Schultz withdrew his lawsuit against the Oklahoma City ownership group of the former Sonic.
According to the Seattle Times, Schultz said rulings by Judge Marsha Pechman made his case more difficult and as a result, "our legal team and I no longer believe we can be successful with this litigation, the newspaper reported.
The report also noted that Schultz didn't want to have a "continuing adversarial relationship with the NBA" which could hurt Seattle's efforts to get a team in the future.

Tulsa women's coach hires her husband as assistant
TULSA - Tulsa women's basketball coach Charlene Thomas-Swinson should know her new assistant well.
Thomas-Swinson said Friday she's hired her husband, Aaron Swinson, as an assistant coach for the Golden Hurricane.
Aaron Swinson has been an assistant head coach for the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League the last two seasons. He's also been a head boys coach at a Tulsa high school.
The Auburn graduate played 12 seasons of pro basketball, including a stint in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns.

Weather delays start of Oklahoma City Preview
The Oklahoma City Preview that is being held at Moses F. Miller Stadium has been indefinitely delayed because of weather. Oklahoma City athletic director Phil Ingersoll said the scrimmage will be delayed for 30 minutes so organizers can judge if the weather will clear.

• Joba Chamberlain says he thinks he could return to the Yankees next week, and he expects to be used out of the bullpen. On the disabled list with rotator cuff tendinitis, Chamberlain threw 45 pitches off a mound Thursday and said his arm felt good. His next step will be facing batters in a simulated game Saturday at Yankee Stadium. If he feels OK after that session, the 22-year-old right-hander said he believes he would soon be ready to come off the DL.
