Beshear makes local stop; announces healthy kids initiative

Kenergy crews helping to restore service
Hurricane Gustav may have spared New Orleans of devastating damage, but it caused tremendous damage to other parts of Louisiana, and a crew from Henderson-based Kenergy Corp. has gone south to help. Ten Kenergy employees left Tuesday to help fellow rural power co-op Dixie Electric Membership Corp. (DEMCO) restore power. DEMCO serves seven parishes just east of Baton Rogue.

Man to get new trial in shooting
